Recently I've taken a break from WoW and I've been playing a few console games instead.
Though I've been horribly missing WoW so I hopped back on to do a few instances including the new (new to me!) ICC five-mans and a ten-man Onyxia. During this I realized something. I'm very, VERY rusty. I haven't healed effectively in a long time. I wasn't bad but I wasn't good either. I mean, sure, we didn't wipe in the five-mans but...it felt odd. I don't know how else to describe it.
It was as though I was stepping into hiking boots in North Caroline after sitting on a couch in Florida for five years.
I feel like my gear is so out-dated and as though I have so much catching up to do that I'm not sure I'll ever catch up (and I think that the badge bought T10 is ugly as sin despite being upgrades). Every time I try to log in now I feel horribly depressed when I look at how much I'm going to have to do to catch up to others in my guild who have become little more than strangers lately.
I feel depressed when I attempt to play. Yet I miss playing. I feel rather pathetic. :(

When I first started playing WoW a few years ago, a friend asked me to roll on his server. Knowing little about end-game content, progression, and servers in general, I did so, and I've been on my back-water, dead realm ever since.
My server seems to destroy any promising guild that may happen to transfer/form there, as there are very few progressive Horde guilds left that have not disbanded. A smaller, more casual server has its upsides, to be sure, but the longer I stay, the more frustrated I get.
Earlier last year I left one of the best guilds on our server for various reasons, one being that they are a late night guild, and between school and looking for a job, I could no longer commit to staying up until 5 AM to raid on a regular basis. I was accepted into a guild that was, at the time, also one of our server's best, but they had more acceptable raid times.
I was incredibly nervous when I first joined as they had such a good reputation, but I quickly found my new in-game home with them, and have been raiding with them ever since. Our GM is a doll, our RL is excellent, in general I feel very close to all my guildmates, and raiding with them is a blast. The only problem? It looks like our glory days are behind us.

Anyway. HAI.
I am Lyr, and I run a guild. My guild needs more peoples. In particular, I need DPS PEOPLES. Not tanks-noooo, no, I have enough tanks. Not really healers, either, although good applicants of something not priest flavored will be considered.
No, we're in desperate need of DPS. But BE WARNED, because we take RAIDS SERIOUSLY.
 Okay I lied. That's totally me rockin' out on a Sandbox Tiger while we wait for our FailRogue to reconnect after managing to FailTrigger every damned trap in ICC at 2 FPS. We're nothing like serious raiders. But we like to have fun, and we're crazy, so I'm told that we have some appeal anyway. \o/
Ahem.
WHAT WE NEED:
-For you to be geared enough for ICC10 at least
-For you to do over 3.5k DPS at least, OMG (pref more, you know, but at least 3.5, omg)
-For you to not stand in The Bad (TM)
-For you to not mind a crazy GM who cusses like a sailor proper Coastie's daughter and generally enjoy crazy
-For you to not be a mage (we have 4)
-....or a hunter (we also have 4)
I'd love a full time boomkin (we have NONE) or DPS shaman (we have...NONE). But really, anyone who Does Not Suck would be...well, awesome. We might even some day become a Big Guild who does Hardmodes when we have better DPS! \o/
We primarily raid Tuesdays (ICC #1), Wednesdays (25 man, currently ToC, want to make it ICC soooonnnnsss), and Thursdays (ICC #2). from 7-10 pm CST. Attending at least 2 of the days would be awesome. \o/ We cleared all of ToC on normal in 10 and 25s, and all of the first wing so far in ICC (we haven't gotten our arses to wing 2 yet).
HELP ME TAKE OVER MY GUILD WITH BOOBIES.

So last night I was lucky enough to get Deathbringer's Will on my rogue. We then split into 10-mans and all seemed pretty fine and dandy until we got to the gunship battle. Apparently, all the shapeshift forms EXCEPT the Taunka are bugged. How I found this out...you can't use your jet pack if you're shape-shifted by the trinket (or mount). Clicking off the buff didn't seem to work either. So me = *panic* I can't get off the shiiiiip!" *dead*
I noticed that Blue posts acknowledged it at least, so hopefully they'll fix it soon, @_@

Hello, ladies. :)
I've done some rummaging around the interwebz but can't really find anything that directly answers my question, so I come to you!
In 3.3 a new resto druid glyph was released, which causes your haste to decrease the amount of time between "ticks" of Rejuvenation. I'm sitting around 500 haste unbuffed right now, not including my Nature's Grace procs. I currently am using the nourish, wild growth, and swiftmend glyphs. Would it be beneficial to replace wild growth with rapid rejuvenation? I'm not really a theory crafter, so I was just curious about this. I'm not entirely sure how much WG adds to my healing.
I guess I should just use the tried-and-true method of experimentation. I was just curious if any of you trees have made the switch and why or why not.
EDIT: This would primarily be for Icecrown 10/25m fights, as our guild rarely does ToC anymore.

Yes, I am back.
I've been using heal bot with my Shammy, and is there any way to move the grid from the middle of the screen to the bottom right or left hand corner. Being in the middle kinda annoys me and I can't see what's in front of me very well.
Any suggestions would be helpful.
Problem solved, man I feel really stupid it was such a simple fix.

Last night i was running random heroics on my DPS DK with two guildies and a pug tree healer and mage. We were doing H FoS and coming up to the last boss, my guidlie teased me about my alchemy trinket ( i havent been 80 that long and am yet to have a good one drop, and not enough badges quite yet) and linked me needle encrusted scorpion as loot from the next boss....
.....Well it drops! and i have a masive squeeee because the only other melee DPS in the group is my guildie and i knew he wouldn't take it.
Im looking around in my bags for a few moments (yes i do blonde things) before i realise the TREE HAS NINJAD IT...
I asked him could i please have it seeing as im melee dps as my first spec, and he snidely replies "No I need what i need" and drops group then and there
Ninja's make me sad.

Dear feral druid
You signed up to be DPS. Which means, you DPS. Me? I signed up to the tank. That's why I'm here with a shield on my back.
You'd think DPS would be a bit more appreciative and happy with a tank that a) is pulling quick enough and b) wants to actually tank.
I wasn't too concerned about the DPS pulling off me, because frankly, it wasn't my fault. When it seemed obvious that you were confused as to which target I was on (yes, warrior tanks are going to tab target around a bit so it's not always the best thing to rely on just my focus target), I started marking. Kill that one first. The rest don't matter after that cause I'm pretty solidly established on them. Big skull marks don't seem to matter though because two of you kept attacking the wrong target and pulling it off me. My pocket healer offered to leave with me, but I just rolled my eyes and said the practice was good and it wasn't crazy chaotic pulling off me.
But then you, you crazy ass feral druid, started going into bear and pulling shit, then dropping into cat when I picked things up. Scuze me? If you're not the tank, stop it. I asked you to stop it. I politely said "if you're not the tank, please stop pulling". The correct response to that is to... I dunno... stop fucking pulling? The incorrect response was turning into a bear and flat out pulling the next group.
WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?
My healer and I stood back and I said "you want to tank it then, you tank it". Her comment was "I'm not healing you". The three of you managed to live through that pull with the bear tanking. Great! That means you don't need me! So I congratulated you on tanking and said you could tank the rest! And then the healer and I dropped group.
Eff you.
Sorry to the rogue that seemed to be the only decent player out of the DPS. You stealthed up nicely, did tricks all the time, and did a good job. Casualty of war and all that. The other two were asshats and made it onto our ignore lists. It's one thing to make my tanking job difficult by just not paying attention, it's another thing completely to just flat out ignore what I said and barrel ahead.
No love to you and yours, and I hope you didn't finish cause I honestly don't think you guys could three man the last bit of trash before the boss, even if the pally and druid picked up the tank and healer roles. Cause you guys weren't *that* geared to be acting like your shit was the awesomesauce.

Hello dear Wow_Ladies,
I had actually been sitting on this question for a while, and mayhaps you can answer this puzzled girl's inquiry. Whenever I use the random dungeon finder, either for heroics or for lowbie instances, I always find I get the SAME ONES OVER AND OVER AGAIN. As a lowbie, I got Scarlet Monestary: Graveyard --I kid you not-- ten times in a row over a span of two days. Seven of those were run in a single day. With heroics, I always seem to get slapped in OK, AN, or HoL. Of course, I've been tossed in the occasional HoR, PoS, and today I even did UK for the first time in ...a long time. But for some reason, I always seem to get thrown into the same four or five dungeons. I don't want to QQ too much, since I enjoy heroics a lot, but doing the same four or five all the time gets a tad irksome.
Do any of you ladies have the same problem, or am I just cursed to do Old Kingdom every day? XD

Our first random heroic two days ago was the Oculus. But there was nothing. Nada. No extra loot bags, just the bog standard stuff. We're on an EU server, is this a US servers thing? When did it come in? Are we doing something wrong here? Is it purely an LFG PUG reward?
Edit: We checked the chest and there was nothing in there. We did think it may have been a maintenance thing, as this was Tuesday, and we don't get ours until Wednesday morning.

| Oculus Blue Drake |

So yesterday my husband and I went in for a random and got Oculus- so I was excited to see what was in the extra loot bags at the end (and was secretly and desperately hoping that I'd get the blue drake).
I had tried to see what the drop rate was for the drake online but wasn't able to find anything conclusive, mostly just people thinking that it would be like the blue proto drake that drops from UP, which I've run about a million times and have never seen.
Well, at the end everyone loots and opens up their bags and TWO OF THE PEOPLE GOT DRAKES! Of course I didn't get it, SIGH! So I don't know if those two people were just insanely lucky or if the new drakes in Oculus will just drop all the time now. I wish I could randomly get it again now. :(
In my extra loot bag there were 2 emblems of triumph and 3 topaz of some kind.
Anyway- I just thought I'd pass on the news!

I recently ran into something lately that got me thinking.
Do you take names/characters seriously if they've got a funny name?
I recently was in a pug raid helping out with heals on my resto shammy. Some resto loot drops, and it's better than mine...hey sure, I'll roll for it. I get the highest roll, yay!
but then the RL comes over the chat saying "no way, ur an alt. U have an alt name, im not giving this 2 u. No 1 would name dere main like dat."
Ok, my beloved resto shaman is named "Watsatotem", which I thought was kinda clever, but she is STILL my main! True, was wasn't originally set out to be my main and WAS an alt while I was raiding on my mage, but to not give loot to someone? She's been my main for well over a year now, and my mage is just kinda my enchanting/bag making character.
I tried explaining to him that it was, indeed, my main but he ended up passing it to the next highest roller. I promptly left group, leaving them short a healer (and their best one, i might snootily add)
Have you guys ever run into....nameism?

I have been trying to figure this out for days, please help me ladies! I raid in a 10 man guild, and I'm trying to decide what things/priority I should be buying my frost emblem stuff. I've tried researching on website but most talk about BIS and stuff which is almost always going to be 25 man stuff. We have started to do the weekly raid on Sundays in 25 man, combining our 2 10 man teams for a night and supplementing with alternates/people from our casual parent guild but I don't count on any 25 lvl gear.

The cape is a nice upgrade, but the 4pc t10 bonus looks so good I worry that I would regret not going for tier gear first. I don't really need the trinket because I'm over 16% hit with my gear as it is (we raid with 2 goats but no shadow priest or moonkin). Although if I swap to robe I probably will need a hit trinket, and I would have to pick up the t9 hat then to keep my bonus and while I know spirit isn't a primary stat losing 88 of it is a decent blow to spellpower. Argh I'm so confused it seems like a horrible cycle lol.

I've been doing a fair bit of farming as of late. I've found even if I can't find Titanium to prospect, Saronite sells for enough that I can buy Titanium Ore and do it. Anyway, been booting around Sholazar and had to make a u-turn for a node the other night. I dropped down, and even before Silver Dragon picked it up...I spotted Loque. My wife has a Hunter, and I asked if she wanted it. Not right then, so...I killed her (the cat, not my wife) for the achievement.

I did feel a bit bad because I know how bad Hunters want her for their pet. Imagine my surprise when last night I was in the same area, and saw her again! This time I asked if there were any Hunters around and when one replied, I grouped with him so he could come and tame her. He was ECSTATIC. He also couldn't believe someone would be nice enough to announce it.

What are these loot bags you all keep talking about?! I've never gotten one. On any of my characters. I've used the new dungeon finder a ton on my pally and a bit on my shaman. Hell, I've even tried tanking on my teeny tiny warrior. I keep reading about these loot bags and I've never even seen such a thing. Why do people get them? Is it completely random or something? I'm sad now cuz I want extra shinies! :(
Edited: Ok, I've got it now. Thanks, Ladies! You've been very helpful (as usual) and I appreciate it muchly :D. I'll have to run randoms tonight after work.
